Spring Semester WhyGive? Recap
|
Created by students for students, the “Why Give?” initiative features weekly events highlighting the value and significance of private giving at Purdue. Throughout each semester, we host several interactive activities and other learning opportunities from giving free coffee to better understand the importance of small giving to trivia featuring Purdue Day of Giving during the "Next giant leap".

Luke Benner
Biomedical Health Sciences | 2026

|
Luke is a junior studying Biomedical Health Sciences with a Pre-Medicine concentration. He originally comes from Bangor, Maine, but has lived most of his life in the Greater Lafayette area. He is currently a member of the Honors college, an ambassador of the College of Health and Human Sciences, Treasurer of Student Organ Donor Advocates, and works as a Sports Communication Intern for Purdue Athletics. Over the summer, Luke was also able to participate in an May-mester study abroad to Greece!
In his free time, Luke enjoys playing intramural sports and trying out new recipes. Once his undergraduate time at Purdue has ended, Luke hopes to attend medical school to fulfill his dream of being a Pediatric Oncologist.

The committee is hard at work planning our WhyGive tabling events, SOAR workshops, and PDOG activities. We have a lot of exciting and engaging things planned! Be sure to check our social media for updates on when all of these events will be taking place.

|
The committee worked hard this month planning and putting on our Spring Recruitment event and inviting potential new members to apply to PFSB!
|
|
|
|
This month, we were proud to share a series of Black History Month features, highlighting figures and groups whose contributions are often overlooked. We aimed to celebrate the rich and diverse impact of Black leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
|
|
|
Marketing and Communication
|
|
Marcom has been working with a variety of committees to create marketing materials and posts, including the promotion of PFSB recruitment and Black History Month! Additionally, we are starting to highlight more on our LinkedIn including a monthly recap to see what PFSB has been involved with.
|
|
|
|
The committee has worked on planning future service events and meeting activities!
|
|
|
PFSB has been active on campus now for 41 years! This is a newspaper clip from 1993.
